Tsunami of good vibes flooding Roodepoort North’s creative scene
Coffee N Deep House Concept Studio an unstoppable wave of oneness
Through the murky haze, a pulse of potency draws the masses to a focal point clarity.
Coffee n Deep House Concept Studio (CnD) is becoming synonymous with every creative beat reverberating through the people and avenues of Roodepoort North. Born in the heart of Tsepho Selepe and grown through a friendship with Bigboy Shaun, every action is like a domino altering the angles of perception to form a collective image that fires the synapses of untapped consciousness.
The sequel to the Market@Rapapadi, hosted on June 26, demonstrated the thirst young business minds have for an outlet. “We were inundated with stall bookings, so entrepreneurs are responding quite positively to the initiative. The mission of the event is to merge entrepreneurship with entertainment, and we had a completely different line-up in terms of DJs and performances on stage,” said Bigboy Shaun.

The understated charisma of the pair warmly embraces like-minded people, creating a mass of spirit that thrusts colourful ideas onto the stale canvas of wasted potential. Food, music and economic enlightenment are CnD’s staples, and for the last 10 months Tsepho and Shaun have been casting their digital net far and wide, creating a prism whereby the shining light of intent fractures into a spectrum of unlimited artistic illumination.
‘Showtime’ is the official CnD podcast that packages live performances, topical interviews and social commentary into a parcel filled with good vibes and sharp wit. “The themes that we cover on ‘Showtime’ are important to me in a sense that not only do we get to disseminate information and entertain other people, but I also get to learn and have fun in the process. It serves as some sort of therapy for me; after all its mandatory for one to be informed in one way or the other,” said Shaun.
Every adventure needs a base camp, and apart from hosting what will become a monthly market, Rapapadi Tavern serves as fledgling stage for CnD to showcase Roodepoort’s performance talent. Barring Monday, each night of the week features a different genre. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday host hip hop, poetry and reggae nights respectively, with Friday and Saturday being the deep house and kwaito main events. The week concludes with a chilled soul and RnB session to ease into Monday.
Those wishing to unleash their talents or swop creative energies with CnD can check out their Facebook page ‘cndconceptstudiostore’ and to sample ‘Showtime’, check either their YouTube channel ‘coffeendeephousestudionconcept’ or Mixcloud handle ‘coffeendeepstudio’. To fertilise the heart and mind one needs only seek the right nutrients to plough into the soil of the soul.
