Ward 71 DA councillor, René Benjamin recently went on a night tour with City Power officials in an attempt to resolve street light issues.
According to René this was the second tour of this nature, as a number of street light calls had either not been attended to, or had been closed without having been addressed.
“The City Power streetlight team is also keen to resolve these issues. While the tour commenced at 18:00 on August 23, it had to be cut short due to Witpoortjie and parts of Grobler Park being without power at the time. The team was taken through Roodepoort West, Davidsonville and Lindhaven to view some of the issues,” she said.
René is now appealing to residents who have logged calls but whose street light issues have not been attended to, to send her their reference numbers.
“Residents should send me their reference number and the address so I can escalate the matter to the team. The streetlight team is a small team but they are very contactable and willing to assist, as is proven by the night tours held. With this I would like to thank Moses Dlamini and the team,” she said.
Residents who have issues but have not registered them can contact the CoJ Call Centre on 011 375 5555 or visit www.citypower.co.za, then click on ‘Customers’ and then on ‘Fault Logging’. City Power also has an app which is free on PlayStore.
Alternatively, the information can be sent to René by SMS or WhatsApp on 073 734 0061 with an exact address. It is important that City Power is informed of the issues so that they can address them.
