On the evening of Sunday, October 10 the West Suburbs Neighbourhood Watch (WSNW) were called to assist after a female hijacking victim with stab wounds reportedly had been left at a shop in Witpoortjie.
According to WSNW spokesperson, Frikkie van Zyl, the woman was hijacked and kidnapped by four unknown thugs. It is believed that while she was held captive in her moving vehicle, she was stabbed in the chest.
The hijackers abandoned her and her vehicle, and fled the scene with only her bank card.
“They just left her and her car at the shop. We were able to assist her until the ambulance arrived and took her to hospital. Local police were also contacted,” Frikkie said.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the thugs fled on foot while the others were believed to have sped off in a gold-coloured Volvo SUV. The condition of the victim is currently unknown, but the Record will provide more information once it’s made available.
Local police were contacted for official comment.
