Ward 85 recently welcomed their brand-new councillor, Zoné Niemand.
“I am humbled and honoured that you have shown your confidence and support when voting for me as your councillor. It is a privilege to be a public servant, and a responsibility I take very seriously,” she said.
“As your councillor I will be prioritising crime in areas, as well as grass-cutting, street lights, enforcing by-laws, protecting our infrastructure, and dealing with illegal connections. I would like to see residents get the services they deserve.”
In 2010 Zoné became involved in politics and decided that she would like to become a ward councillor one day. On Monday, November 22 she finally reached her goal when she was officially sworn in as the new Ward 85 councillor.
Her areas include parts of Princess, Grobler Park, parts of Lindhaven, Carenvale, Horizon View, Ontdekkers Park, Kloofendal, Constantia Kloof, Horison Park and Floracliffe.
“Our ward is one of the most beautiful and conservation-rich wards, and I would like to see that every part of it is as beautiful and well-maintained as the next. I want to encourage the community to contact me if they have any enquiries so that I can also bring change – even if it is only for the community I am serving,” she said.
Residents can contact Zoné on 081 584 7559 or send an email to zone@ward85.joburg.
