Members of the Panorama Residents Association and Honeydew CPF responded to a fire in Weltevreden Park on January 3.
Illegally dumped refuse seems to have been the cause of the blaze which took emergency services more than 40 minutes to extinguish. Communications officer for Honeydew CPF, Michael Steyn said fortunately, no one was hurt as a result.
Residents can report illegal dumping by using the JMPD’s WhatsApp number 082 779 1361. Illegal dumping is punishable by a fine of up to R5 000 or a prison term.
