Rhapsody in Pink receives Platinum Award
The show was also in celebration of teacher Carla Turner's 25 years of sharing the magic of ballet with children of all ages.
On Saturday, March 12 many parents and ballet enthusiasts feasted their eyes on 55 pairs of little feet elegantly gracing the stage of the Roodepoort Theatre.
It was none other than Dance Inc’s much-anticipated ninth theatre production, Rhapsody in Pink. The show, which only received positive feedback, was also a celebration of teacher Carla Turner’s 25 years of sharing the magic of ballet with children of all ages.

The show – by kids for kids – orchestrated glorious classics like My Favourite Things, Dancing Queen, Swan Lake, Barbie Girl, Bossa Nova, All about the Bass, Isn’t She Lovely and of course the studio’s famous theme song, Better When I’m Dance Inc.
According to Carla it wasn’t long before the five-year-old performers had their audience tapping their toes and dancing in their seats.
“I can say with confidence that the performers melted everyone in the audience’s heart. By the time the finale started, the entire audience was clapping and singing along. I’m so proud of all the performers who did so well, they really stunned their audience and made for such a beautiful performance,” Carla said.
She is also ecstatic to announce that the group had received a Platinum Award (A+) at the Raca Eisteddfod.
“These girls have worked so hard for the past couple of months, and they did so exceptionally well. With this I would like to thank everyone who helped make this production a huge success, especially the students, Roodepoort Theatre for the opportunity to dance in such a beautiful space, and our Raca adjudicator, Mr Rodney Prins. We can’t wait for the next one!” Carla concluded.
