Princess Primary School receives uniform donation from Christ Embassy West Rand
Christ Embassy reaches out to schools as part of their back-to-school inner-city mission.
Christ Embassy International Church West Rand has spread its wings to the furthest reaches of its congregation.
The Weltevreden Park-based church chose Princess Primary School as the latest beneficiaries of their programme to help feed and clothe school children in need, with church representatives delivering several bundles of uniforms to the school on March 16.
Christ Embassy has a series of inner-city missions which cater for underprivileged children, focusing mainly on hospitals and schools. This particular handover forms part of their back-to-school drive where they have approached schools which they felt could benefit from assistance with clothes, food and fees. “We don’t just want to give uniforms, but as a church we want to build lives by giving them the word of God,” said Christ Embassy’s Hilda Rutumhu.
A grateful school management accepted the hampers that included white collared shirts, grey shorts and black leather school shoes. Christ Embassy then shared tips on healthy eating before imparting a massage from the Lord. “We can’t tell them about the word of God while they have an empty stomach,” said Hilda. “Our passion is to have every child know that there is someone out there who cares for them. For you to impact the world you have to impact the communities first, and it starts with the younger ones,” she concluded.
