Caution: Christiaan de Wet Road closure
Motorist are urged to avoid the steep road for now and use alternative routes until further notice.
Motorists are advised to take note that Christiaan de Wet Road coming from Wilgerood Road towards Clearwater Mall is currently closed for road maintenance and will be reopened at 14:00.
JRA have asked JMPD to assist them with traffic diversion and control, but motorists are urged to avoid the steep road for now and use alternative routes, such as Jim Fouché.
The road was closed to divert underground water so that it can dry off and that JRA can repair potholes, something that was requested by Gauteng Province Roads and Transport Dapartment because this road belongs to them.
During this closure, Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo will also be trimming trees and cutting grass.
