CPF patrollers continue patrolling despite cold nights

The Honeydew CPF encourage members of the community who would like to join the team of patrollers to get in contact with Jon on 082 450 2305 and he will be able to share all the information on how to join.

Friday, April 29 saw 20 Honeydew volunteer CPF patrollers braving the dropping temperatures to patrol the streets of Honeydew Precinct.

The night started off slow for the patrollers, with the odd gate that was left open and a few people with flat tyres that needed assistance.

Later in the evening as the team was about to go for a coffee break they got a request for traffic control at the scene of an accident that happened earlier that evening on William Nicol Road near Life Flora Hospital.

This kept the dedicated men and women busy for a while as the road had to be closed while the recovery took place.

Finally the time for a coffee break arrived, proudly sponsored by the Wildbean Cafe at BP Oasis N1 S.

BP Oasis N1 S and their team are among the filling stations that have offered to keep the volunteer CPF patrollers warm during the cold nights.

The patrollers also assisted at a motorbike accident in Honeydew where they managed the traffic while medics assessed the patient.

“We thank Anthony for his support and highly recommend that residents support them. We also want to thank the Honeydew Police Reservist who is always there for our patrollers as back-up, and to our patrollers who volunteer their time to keep the community safe,” said the head of the volunteer CPF patrollers, Jon Rosenberg.

The Honeydew CPF encourage members of the community who would like to join the team of patrollers to get in contact with Jon on 082 450 2305 and he will be able to share all the information on how to join.
