Trinity House Little Falls open their hearts to fill a truck for KZN flood victims

Truck departed Trinityhouse Little Falls on May 20 bound for a small community in Verulam

Near of far, the commitment to assist those in need has no borders.

The Trinityhouse Little Falls family has sent a truck load of relief to a small community just outside Durban. A 24-wheeled behemoth will bring much-needed aid to one of the areas severely effected by the flooding that claimed over 400 lives in late April.

Three weeks ago, Liezel Pieters approached Karen Cammell about doing a charity drive for the flood victims in KZN. They identified a school near Verulam with over 1 000 learners in a small community that has more than 100 families who were victims of the floods.

Trinityhouse Little Falls challenged Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge, ADvTECH Head Office and their parents to help fill the truck. As a team, they collected close to 1 000 5L bottles of water, over 500 boxes of tinned food, 20 boxes of paper, stationery for the school and lots of blankets.

The team also managed to assemble 50 care packages for the staff of the school in KwaZulu-Natal. The truck arrived on campus early in the morning and in under an hour, with help from their learners and staff, they packed and filled the truck.
