Panorama Primary brings families together for movie night
Blankets, food stalls, and Pixar magic! Panorama Primary School's outdoor cinema provided a memorable fundraising evening that brought learners, parents, and staff closer together.
Panorama Primary School turned its grounds into a bustling outdoor cinema on August 21, welcoming learners and their families for an evening filled with entertainment, food, and community spirit.
The movie night was organised as a fundraising initiative led by Intermediate Phase Departmental Head Mr Sookchand, with key support from school bookkeeper Mrs Lombaard and dedicated staff members.
Families settled in under the night sky to watch the latest Toy Story movie, enjoying a wide variety of food and refreshments from surrounding vendor stalls. Attendees indulged in local favourites, including freshly prepared pancakes and samoosas, boerie and preggo rolls, butter chicken sandwiches, as well as coffee.
“Beyond raising funds for the school, the event provided an opportunity for learners, parents and staff to spend quality time together in a relaxed setting,” said deputy principal Lenadi Pulella.

“The success of the evening was attributed to the support of families who attended, staff members who assisted with the organisation, and vendors who helped make the event possible.”
Following the enthusiastic response from the community, Lenadi confirmed that the school plans to make the movie night a recurring event.
The successful evening demonstrated how school fundraisers can go beyond financial goals to build strong community ties and create lasting memories for learners.
