The Parkies Rangers’ High School Musical dance number earned them a second place while the 1st Krugersdorp Guides came in third with an exciting dance number from Frozen by Nelly Musumhi.

“We even had a pageant for which all the participants were welcome to enter. We are pleased to announce that we’ve had an amazing day filled with laughs, smiles and of course, lots of dancing,” Ranger Nokuthila Mahlangu said.

The co-winners of the pageant were Tshegofatso Mngomezulu from the 1st Krugersdorp Guides and Hanah Grobler from the 3rd Krugersdorp Brownies. Second place went to Debbie Bevan (3rd Krugersdorp Guider) and third place was awarded to Mary Devine from Trefoil Guild.

According to Nokuthila all members of the Girl Guide Movement in the Gauteng West Region were welcome to participate in the fun-filled afternoon.

“Regional events are great fun as this gives the girls from the different units a chance to get to know each other. This year, beside the Disney Talent Show, we have already held two Regional Guide camps, a Regional Ranger Camp, Regional Guide Sunday, and a Regional Market and Craft Day,” Guider Kathy Slade explained.

“The Guiding Movement also welcomes ladies over 18 years of age who wish to train as voluntary leaders in the movement. Although it is not a paid role, watching the girls have fun and growing into responsible members of our communities is a priceless reward in itself.”
