Community members reported the presence of several law-enforcement vehicles at shopping centres in Weltevreden Park. The apparent commotion was due to authorities checking the paperwork of the centre’s security personnel. A total of 16 security guards were arrested for being in contravention of the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Act 56 of 2001 for not having the required paperwork.
