One dead after gas truck and taxi crash in Wilro Park
Unfortunately a female passenger from the minibus taxi succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
On Tuesday, June 14 at about 15:00 a serious accident involving two vehicles happened on CR Swart Road between Naboom Street and Elkie Drive in Wilro Park.
All three occupants of the white Mitsubishi truck that was transporting gas sustained slight injuries while three passengers and the driver of the yellow Toyota Quantum minibus taxi sustained serious injuries. One of the taxi passenger sustained only slight injuries.
All the injured passengers were taken to various hospitals. Unfortunately a female passenger from the minibus taxi succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
JMPD spokesperson Xolanin Fihla confirmed that their officers had responded to the accident.
“The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and a case of culpable homicide, and reckless and negligent driving has been opened at the Roodepoort police station for further investigation,” said Fihla.
