Florida Toastmaster Tim Knights completes prestigious Toastmasters International course
The Engaging Humour Pathway is a five-level course and features two electives for levels three through to five.

To afford their members an opportunity to continuously enhance their repertoire, Toastmasters International launched their Pathways programme. Focused on communication techniques, Pathways provide the tools to become a great orator by making use of specialised learning paths in 300 different themes. Florida Toastmaster, Tim Knights recently completed the Engaging Humour Pathway, a course based on understanding how humour relates to public speaking.
The five-level programme begins with mastering fundamentals before moving on to learning one’s style and increasing knowledge. Level four is about building skills, before the final stage of demonstrating expertise. Chief Executive Officer of Toastmasters International, Daniel Rex, penned a letter to mark Tim’s achievement.
He writes:
“I am writing on behalf of Tim Knights. As a member of Toastmasters International, Toastmaster Knights has demonstrated a high level of commitment to self-improvement by participating in the Toastmasters Pathways learning experience and has completed the Engaging Humour path.
“Completing the path demonstrates an important commitment to a goal that required working with others and the application of writing and public speaking skills. The projects that make up the highest level of Engaging Humour focus on planning, writing, audience awareness, and public speaking. Toastmaster Knights worked to develop a keynote length address and strong impromptu speaking skills.
“Fulfilling these requirements involved several months of planning and implementation. It also demonstrates tremendous self-motivation and a strong interest in self-improvement. By completing the Engaging Humour path, Toastmaster Knights has shown a commitment to excellence in communication.
