As part of their regular themed days, the learners were asked to read an Afrikaans book and on Friday were given the opportunity to transform themselves into their character from the said piece.

Princesses, adventurers, heroes and wild animals were all on show for the show-and-tell day. To fully express themselves, learners took turns to tell their classmates about their book and their special choice of attire.

“We do it purely for the enjoyment of the learners and to lift everyone’s spirits. They really did make so much effort and they all looked so nice. A lot of laughter and jokes were shared among everyone today,” said DNL’s Principal, Leonie Leppich.

Its name being Spanish for God’s Children, DNL now has roughly 50 learners and is fully registered with Cambridge International as well as the Department of Education.
