Headmaster Langley gets a wonderful 60th birthday surprise
This was the perfect end to the Heritage Day celebrations and the last day of school before the school holidays.
All the learners and staff at the King’s School West Rand had an exciting secret surprise planned on Friday, September 23. Dressed up in their traditional and cultural outfits they had an exciting afternoon event planned for their headmaster, Ken Langley.
Friday was his 60th birthday and the school surprised Langley with a tunnel of cheering learners leading up to a limo parked in the parking area – ready to take him and his family to a birthday lunch.
The whole school lined up in excitement with party blowers for Langley’s surprise birthday celebration. He walked through the long tunnel of learners from Grade RR to Grade 12 who sang Happy Birthday and wished him a wonderful year ahead.
At the end of the walk, he got into the limo with his family. This was the perfect end to the Heritage Day celebrations and the last day of school before the school holidays.
