Ogle Foundation visits Discovery Primary
Patty also spoke to the girls about menstrual pains, hygiene and how to correctly dispose of their used sanitary towels.
On Tuesday, September 20 the girls at Discovery Primary School received an exciting visit from Patty Ogle and her team from the Ogle Foundation.

The visit formed part of the foundation’s effort to empower young – often underprivileged – girls by providing them with sanitary towels. After visiting a school in Witpoortjie at the beginning of September, the Ogle Foundation ended their month’s activities on a high note when they met with the senior girls of Discovery Primary.

“We were extremely happy, as always, to meet with these beautiful girls. Thanks to all our volunteers as well as The Grind Foundation and Christeline Harmse, we were able to equip them with enough pads to help them through their next cycle,” the foundation founder said.
During the event the Ogle Foundation team distributed sanitary towels to 235 girls from Grades 5, 6 and 7. Each girl received at least two packets of eight pads each.

“We encouraged the girls to look after themselves, and not be ashamed of menstruating as it is human. It’s up to them to stay clean and healthy when the time arrives. We are also thankful for the beautiful school who received and hosted us in such a pleasant manner,” she concluded.
