Dr Jason du Plessis, orthopaedic surgeon of Life Flora Hospital, was invited to join the New Sports Injury Centre at The Shoulder Review Programme in India this past November.

The Sports Injury Centre is the first and biggest sports orthopaedic centre in India, based at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The conference had 120 orthopaedic surgeons in attendance.

Dr Du Plessis was invited as the international faculty member and their guest of honour. He was a panellist for the morning session and presented three talks in the afternoon session on day one, mainly focusing on reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

On day two, Arthrex hosted an exclusive master class for 25 delegates. This course was aimed at senior orthopaedic surgeons with a special interest in shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

At this meeting, Du Plessis was the course chairperson and presented three talks including a re-live surgery showing a step-by-step approach to shoulder replacement surgery. Lastly, Du Plessis attended a faculty dinner with the course experts, where they hosted a question-answer session with him on case presentations and difficult cases for discussion.
