St Catherine’s Convent: Where girls are empowered
Visit St Catherine's Convent during their information evening, for prospective Grade Eight learners, being held on Wednesday, February 19 at 18:00.
Are you looking for a holistic and nurturing environment where you can watch your daughter grow? Look no further than St Catherine’s Convent, a leading all-girls school that has been a beacon of excellence for many decades.
Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the IEB-registered school places a strong emphasis on academic achievement, personal growth and extra-curricular involvement.

It’s a place where every learner is valued as an individual and encouraged to reach her fullest potential.
The sense of community and support at St Catherine’s is evident in the way learners work together, inspire each other, and build lasting friendships.

According to the principal of the school, Terri O’Donovan, the matriculants of 2024 obtained a 100% pass rate with an average of 2.88 distinctions.
“We have achieved a 100% pass rate for 49 years in a row now,” she says, beaming with pride.

“Our school strives to empower and nurture our girls, helping them to become confident individuals who are prepared to excel in all aspects of their lives.”

“There are plenty of educational institutions, all of which impart learning, but it is our prayer that our girls go out into the world in a unique manner – with the strength, ability and passion not only to reach and excel in their professional aspirations but to remain beautiful human beings.”
While academics are a core focus, the school also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities designed to help learners develop well-rounded skills. From competitive sports like netball, hockey, and cross-country to swimming, there’s something for every girl to get involved in. Public speaking, performing on stage and working backstage are also key skills we focus on in our extra-curricular activities. For those who love to dance, the school has a dance studio, where learners can tone their dance moves.

“We provide our girls with the tools to succeed not only in their studies but in life,” she says.
“We aim to create an environment where every learner can explore her passions, whether that be through sport, the arts, or leadership opportunities.”
“We have a preschool, primary and high school, and we are just a unique, loving, and caring school.”

For families considering St Catherine’s for their daughters, the school is hosting an information evening on Wednesday, February 19 at 18:00 for prospective Grade Eight learners. This is a wonderful opportunity for potential learners to tour the school and participate in a variety of fun activities.
Prospective Grade Eight learners will also be invited and encouraged to write a scholarship test for academics and sports set to take place February 22 from 09:00 to 10:00 giving them the chance to showcase their talents and apply for opportunities that could support their educational journey.

“Every day is an open day, parents who wish to enrol their children for any grade are encouraged to book an appointment or visit our school premises during school hours.”
