Officers tackle dirty police station

Officers from the supply chain and facility management unit made the most of the good weather

Florida police members made the most of the first sunny day after two weeks of near-continuous rain when the supply chain and facility management team took up tools and undertook a cleanup of the police station on Thursday, March 20.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Sipho Dlamini, the nearly daily rain meant that certain tasks could not be performed over the past few weeks.

This includes trimming of overgrown trees and shrubs, the spraying down of the paving, and proper cleaning of the stoeps.

Thursday morning saw the teams happily going about clearing overgrown vegetation and restoration of the paving and stoeps. This even inspired some of their fellow police officers to take up brooms and sweep out the busy detectives’ office.

While cleaning up is not exactly what one would term as a fun morning, the officers seemed genuinely grateful for the break in the bad weather of the past two weeks and took to the task at hand with gusto.
