Doreen Road temporarily closed due to rain damage

Motorists travelling along the road can expect delays and are urged to drive with caution.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has announced a partial road closure on Doreen Road (southbound) between Totius Road and Toermalyn Avenue following recent heavy rainfall that has caused significant damage to the road’s infrastructure.

According to a traffic advisory issued by the JRA, the left lane has been temporarily closed as a safety precaution. Ongoing rainfall has led to erosion and damage along the affected stretch, prompting authorities to cordon off the area to ensure public safety. Traffic flow is expected to be reduced while detailed assessments and repairs are conducted.

Motorists have been urged to approach the area with caution, anticipate delays, and consider using alternative routes.

The JRA apologised for any inconvenience caused and also advised drivers to adhere to traffic officials’ directions and observe all road signage in the vicinity of the closure.
