Taslyn Johnson, a 16-year-old dancing sensation, was selected alongside her team (the Mario Gomes Hip Hop Academy) to represent South Africa at the Spain World Festival, set to take place from July 1 to 14.
This selection comes after their exceptional Squid Games performance at the Dance World Cup South African Qualifier that took place on March 24.

With a passion for hip hop, Afro, and Amapiano, Taslyn has been dancing for the past three years, and her love for the art form only continues to grow. She says it is her dream and passion to dance for big international artists like Chris Brown.
“My journey began when my mom would encourage me to dance for relatives whenever we had family gatherings, and that sort of nurtured this talent from a young age,” she said.
Throughout the three years at the Academy, Taslyn has won three impressive gold medals, one that she collected at a Gauteng competition and two others at SA competitions.
“Being selected for Spain means the world to me. I will have an opportunity to meet other world dancers and also showcase my skills.”
However, Taslyn needs the community’s help to make this dream a reality. The costs associated with traveling to Spain and participating in the festival are substantial, and Taslyn’s family is reaching out to the community for support.
By contributing to Taslyn’s trip, you will not only be helping a talented young dancer achieve her dreams but also representing South Africa on an international platform. For more information, you can contact 084 534 9975 or 084 416 0165.
