Dr Jason du Plessis orthopaedic surgeon at Life Flora Hospital recently served as a key faculty member at the Biotek Internationally acclaimed BEST Cadaver Lab held at the University of Pretoria.

The session focused on advanced shoulder arthroscopy techniques and was part of an initiative to strengthen global surgical education.
During the lab, Dr Du Plessis mentored three young, up-and-coming orthopaedic surgeons from Mexico:
• Dr Guillermo Montalvo Obregon
• Dr Dan Vesalio Flores Gonzalez
• Dr Alberto Carlos Cervantes Ordonez

These surgeons were selected for their passion and dedication to improving arthroscopic skills and patient outcomes. They embraced this opportunity to train under expert supervision, refine their techniques, and gain hands-on experience using cadaveric specimens.

Their participation aims to take the advanced skills and knowledge gained during the training back to their respective hospitals and clinics in Mexico, helping elevate the standard of care in shoulder procedures. Their involvement underscores the value of global collaboration in medical education and Biotek’s ongoing commitment to developing surgical talent across borders.
