Rand Society of Model Engineers hosts Florida Halloween train rides

Climb aboard for spooky family thrills as miniature locomotives roll out treats, tunnels, and fancy dress.

The Rand Society of Model Engineers is holding a special Halloween train experience today, October 30, and tomorrow, October 31, promising to leave hair standing on end.

According to committee member Shane Maitland, their Haunted Halloween event has become an annual institution in Florida, providing hours of fun and entertainment for the whole family. The event will take place at Len Rutter Park, on the corner of Golf Club Terrace and Louis Botha Drive, Florida.

Fun and scares

“Visitors can look forward to a variety of food stalls, lots of snacks and treats on sale, and of course, the main attraction: the trains.

“The Spooky Tunnel is sure to be a main attraction again this year,” he said.

Entry is only R20, which includes one train ride. Thereafter, train tickets are R10 per ride.

The event starts at 16:00 and ends at 22:00 on both days.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their scariest outfits.

“We look forward to welcoming the community for an evening full of fun and scares,” he concluded.
