One dead in alleged road rage attack on Hendrik Potgieter

One person died after being shot in an alleged road rage incident on the corner of Hendrik Potgieter and Handicap Road in Ruimsig this afternoon.

According to BCI Security’s operations manager Lionell Gaffney, the incident occurred at about 14:40 today, March 1 and the exact circumstance is not yet known.

“Reports of a shooting circulated on our emergency groups, and we along with various other local security companies responded immediately, as did various ambulance services,” says Gaffney.

“Upon arrival, it was established that it was a road rage incident and one person was declared dead at the scene.”

Hendrik Potgieter Road is currently closed by police as a crime scene between Doreen and Viljoen Road by the Sasol service station.
