Witpoortjie shooting: Police weigh in

Authorities hunt quartet in hatchback after woman gunned down; enquiries continue amid speculation of deliberate attack.

Police have released more information regarding yesterday’s fatal shooting at the Corlett Avenue and Ontdekkers Road intersection.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, the victim was a 36-year-old woman.

Nevhuhulwi confirmed that police are looking for four suspects driving in a white VW Polo.

“One of the suspects shot the victim multiple times before they fled the scene. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage, and investigations are underway,” she says.

Nevhuhulwi declined to comment on widespread suspicions that the murder was a targeted hit, saying only that the matter is under investigation.
