According to Honeydew CPF public relations officer Michael Steyn, the Honeydew Emergency Security Group received the initial alert, prompting a swift, co-ordinated response from multiple security teams and SAPS.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene after crashing a vehicle believed to have been used in the attempted theft. The remaining two fled in a second vehicle, triggering a manhunt.
Police, together with BAS Special Operations, followed leads to Soweto, where the two outstanding suspects were arrested. The second getaway vehicle was also recovered.

Further investigation revealed that both vehicles – a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Etios – are linked to outstanding criminal cases in Brixton.
Authorities recovered two signal jammers, seven computer boxes, and various tools commonly associated with vehicle theft. The items will form part of the ongoing investigation.
Steyn commended the collaboration between all role players, noting that such co-operation is key to combating crime effectively.
Investigations are ongoing, and further arrests have not been ruled out.
