Join the annual Len Rutter clean-up campaign

Florida Block Watch invites residents to take part in the annual Len Rutter Park Clean-up project on October 11.

Florida Block Watch (FBW) is hoping to make an even bigger success of their annual Len Rutter Park clean-up campaign than last year, which was one for the books.

According to FBW chairperson John Kirsten, last year’s campaign saw community members, local businesses, schools, and even the Florida police come out in force to clean up the park, which is a cornerstone of the community.

“The park hosts the weekly parkrun, and is a popular spot for people to walk their dogs.

“It is one of the few open spaces we have in Florida where people can enjoy the outdoors in relative safety, and it is worth protecting.

“We urge community members to come and spend the morning with us as we ensure this beautiful park remains as special as it is.

“All you need is a pair of gardening gloves, a hat and some sunscreen.”

The campaign is set to take place on Saturday, October 11 kicking off at 8:00.

“We’re planning to finish at about noon,” says Kirsten.
