3 Roodepoort suburbs face low to no water supply
Johannesburg Water is investigating low incoming supply to the Witpoortjie Reservoir, with residents in several areas warned of possible interruptions.
Johannesburg Water is investigating low incoming supply from Rand Water to the Witpoortjie Reservoir on Tuesday, October 6.
The low reservoir level is also affecting supply to the Witpoortjie Tower.
In a statement released by Johannesburg Water, it said that the reservoir’s outlet is currently being throttled to build capacity. Pumping to the tower resumes only when the reservoir level improves, resulting in intermittent supply.
Customers supplied by the Witpoortjie Reservoir and Tower may experience low pressure to no water supply.
Affected areas
• Witpoortjie
• Lindhaven
• Grobler Park
Alternative water supply has been arranged for the affected areas.
