Clearwater Mall cuts red ribbon on the grand reopening of their food court piazza
Remodelling Incorporates renewable materials to create oasis within the mall
After months of dust and hammers, shoppers at Clearwater Mall have been enjoying the fresh feel.

The piazza that sits under the retractable roof and which houses the food court and children’s play areas underwent an aesthetic revamp. To celebrate the reopening, Clearwater Mall management and the visionaries behind the final product shared a few glasses of champagne on September 27. Arranged by Wayne Stafford and First Crew Productions, the suave cocktail party celebrated new beginnings and a modern outlook.

The project took just over six months to complete and was a collaborative effort between Bertha Wium Landscape Developments, Home Grown Studios and Cornelia King Landscape Architects. Using renewable materials, designers Hannes van der Merwe and Walter Language aimed to amplify the wide open courtyard, combining form and functionality to create what they described as an ‘oasis’ within the mall.

Clearwater Mall’s General Manager, Lauren Meyer, thanked everyone who played a role in in creating the new piazza. Meyer thanked the crews who worked throughout the night in ensuring deadlines were met and extended her gratitude to shoppers and the tenants for their patience while remodeling the piazza into an experience enhancing centrepiece.
