Horizon View Primary hosts pyjama day for civvies

Horizon View Primary School showed off lazy looks as they host a pyjama day as part of their civvies day for the reopening of schools.

Horizon View Primary School had a pyjama day on a very cold July 21 as part of their civvies day for the first week of school.

An extraordinary, yet fun idea sparked a frenzy in the school corridors as learners were excited to be able to express themselves through wearing comfortable clothes to school.

“It was decided that we have a pyjama day for the first week back at school. It proved the perfect day as it was so cold. Learners and staff participated and enjoyed being warm in their PJs,” Luverne Steinbank head of admissions (admissions officer) and chairperson of the fundraising committee said.

Teachers, office staff and learners pulled up in all sorts of pyjama styles with some mixing it up with school uniform, while others went in completely with their gowns.

The school principal, Mrs Sono, also attributed the day as a teambuilding initiative and said that staff were equally excited about the pyjama day.

A special visit from Miss Soweto, Thakane Sono was also part of the day’s events and Grade Six and Seven learners had the honour of sitting in on a mental health and substance awareness campaign hosted by the beauty who is also an occupational therapist from Westview Clinic.
