Local school performs the story of the Curry Bean

Poortview-based school puts on parody play of well-known pirate movies.

The primary school learners at The King’s School West Rand put on a hilarious and pun-filled play about a bunch of slapstick characters in search of a hidden treasure on a mystical island!

One of the characters, a rowdy pirate called Captain Red Beard, captains a ship called the Curry Bean, in a cheeky parody of the hit movie series The Pirates of the Caribbean.

Song and dance accompanied witty dialogue as the cast unfurled the pirates’ story, making sure the crowd stayed bent over in laughter as the children delivered each line effortlessly.
