Snuggles visit local library

Junior Colleges Snuggles learners celebrated World Read Aloud Day with a visit to a local library.

The Grade R learners of Junior Colleges Snuggles paid a visit to the Weltevreden Park Library recently.

According to teacher Melissa Ayres, this visit was to celebrate World Read Aloud Day on February 7.

“The librarian taught our learners about the importance of reading and taking care of books, and took the opportunity to read us a story,” she said, adding that it was an exciting outing for the young learners.

“The visit also taught learners about the importance of community centres like libraries and introduced them to the concept of ‘old school’ research.”

After the visit, learners and teachers ended their outing with a lovely picnic.
