RRA tackles environmental issues in the community

Radiokop Residents Association collaborates with Life Wilgeheuwel to ensure a safe and cohesive community for residents.

Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital has emerged as a positive example of community involvement, demonstrating its commitment to working alongside the Radiokop Residents Association (RRA) to address environmental and social issues.

According to RRA chairperson Chalice Moodley and hospital operations manager Julian Kuppen, the hospital’s proactive approach to waste management has significantly reduced rubble accumulation outside its premises.

“By partnering with recycling and waste management companies, Wilgeheuwel Hospital is ensuring that food waste and recyclable materials are collected and processed responsibly.

“Furthermore, the hospital is taking ownership of maintaining the surrounding area, clearing vacant land, and keeping stormwater drains functional and clean,” says Moodley.

The hospital’s efforts reflect its dedication to being an integral part of the community. Chalice Moodley reiterates its motto ‘Unity in Community, Together We Thrive’ which underscores its commitment to ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more cohesive environment for all residents and businesses.
