Fire destroys home
The family remains grateful for life and hopes to get the necessary help they need.
A family is grappling with the aftermath of a fire that destroyed half of their home. The fire, caused by an overcharged battery, has left them in desperate need of assistance.
Amanda Pieterse shares her story, explaining how the fire spread rapidly and caused extensive damage to the house as everything was burnt, leaving her family without proper shelter and necessities.
“We need some curtains, bedding, a gas stove, a small fridge, and blankets. We also don’t have any groceries as everything was burnt up, so we need food and other necessities just up until we can be able to make another plan,” she explains.
Pieterse further adds that the owners of the house have building insurance but she and her family will have to replace all of their belongings as the insurance does not cover the contents.
The family is pleading with local organisations and individuals to step forward and provide assistance by donating the above-mentioned items and other items that will help them during this difficult time of their lives.
