Constable honored with Goodwill Shield
His actions set an inspiring example of service and dedication for both his colleagues and community members.
Constable Peter Dixon, a reservist at Honeydew Police Station, was honoured with the Goodwill Shield by the Honeydew CPF on Saturday, December 7.
The award recognises his outstanding commitment to community safety and assistance, particularly during the fatal accident on October 26 on the N1 at Gordon Road.

The accident was a result of a crash that involved a truck, an SUV and a panel van that resulted in multiple injuries and one woman sadly succumbed to her injuries on scene. Dixon was one of the first people to arrive at the scene and stayed until the very end. His selfless actions during the incident, despite being off duty, showed his exceptional dedication and deep sense of responsibility.

The Goodwill Shield is awarded by the Honeydew CPF to individuals who go above and beyond in serving the community. It symbolises recognition of extraordinary contributions toward maintaining safety, fostering unity, and embodying goodwill.
Michael Steyn, the public relations officer for the Honeydew CPF, said, “Constable Dixon’s actions reflect the essence of community policing. Even while off duty, he stepped up to help during a critical moment, proving that dedication to the community doesn’t stop at the end of a shift.”
