Two vehicles collide at the infamous Witpoortjie intersection
Fortunately no fatalities were reported but one driver was taken to hospital.
A crash occurred between two vehicles at the corner of Ham Street and General Pienaar Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, February 5.
The incident involved a white bakkie and a grey small vehicle. According to responders (First Help) at the scene, the driver of the Tata allegedly failed to obey a traffic sign at the intersection.
“The bakkie was travelling down General Pienaar Avenue, while the Tata was heading up Ham Street,” one of the first responders said.
The driver of the bakkie sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Tata was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Motorists are reminded to obey road rules and drive safe during rainy weather.
