The hospital’s maternity ward staff ensured that both the mothers-to-be and their babies would be taken care of. Counselling psychologist Laken Folster spoke briefly on the importance of mental health for pregnant women before and after childbirth, with an additional discussion on the importance of mental healthcare for postpartum.

Amanda van Huyssteen, a specialised dietitian concluded the ceremony by encouraging women to eat healthy and providing essential meal plans to help them stay healthy.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage with healthcare experts, ask questions, and share their own experiences in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. The event also featured a range of exhibitors showcasing products and services related to pregnancy, parenting, and family wellness.

“The hospital has always been a haven for birthing all three of my children, and right now with my fourth one coming, I know I will receive the same positive treatment. I loved the pregnancy awareness event because all the doctors ensure that you are doing a great job despite what you think.

“Your babies are their babies too and you can never worry about anything wrong happening. I recommend it to any of the mommies-to-be,” said attendee Claudi Nel.
