Young local model shines on international runway

Diané van Greuning, 11, steals the show as the face of Colombia Fashion Kidz 2025.

Dainé van Greuning (11) has just returned from a life-changing experience, where she had the esteemed honour of being the face of Colombia Fashion Kidz 2025.

The event was held from August 20–24, and Diané had a magical experience seeing her face on billboards, promotional items, lanyards and magazines.

The young model started her modelling career in 2024, and she quickly found her passion in fashion and photography.

Her journey to becoming an international model began when she was selected as one of the top five finalists for the International Casting Fashion Kids Icon Title. It was during that competition that Colombia Kidz discovered her and offered this opportunity.

“I had an amazing experience exploring the city and interacting with other models. Speaking Spanish to my fellow models was a challenge, but I quickly overcame it and made life-long friends,” she said.

She added that she participated in activities such as red carpet interviews, workshops, and a family fun day, culminating in a spectacular runway show dressed in different designs.

“My absolute favourite moment was definitely walking the runway. I also enjoyed the gala event as we got to dress up.”

For the gala, she was dressed by local designer Tshegofatso Lepedi. The dress was inspired by an Audrey Hepburn look – a sleek, long, classic soft leather dress with ruffles and a beautiful, big black bow on the back.

“For our photography workshop, I was dressed by local designer Ri.CH Factory, combining bold African colours into a masterpiece. I was also dressed in a beautiful crochet design by Aesthetic Dosage for our first breakfast.”

At the fashion show, she had the opportunity to walk for six designers, namely Twenty Monkeys, Mister Jack, Julio Castillo, Cuento De Hadas, Augusto Ramirez Designs and Paola Andrea.

Going forward, Diané said there’s more coming into her modelling career, and she cannot wait to share it with the rest of the world.
