Honeydew CPF’s annual Toy Run returns

Your small gift could bring the biggest smile to the faces of those in need this festive season.

Residents came out to support the Honeydew CPF’s annual Toy Run and biscuit collection drive on Saturday, November 15, by donating 1kg packs of Bakers Choice Assorted Biscuits and making cash contributions.

The initiative aims to bring festive joy to elderly and underprivileged members of the community. The collected biscuits will be given to families and children in need to help make Christmas meaningful for them.

Seventy boxes of biscuits were donated from three collection points. Additionally, monetary contributions allowed for the purchase of an extra 20 boxes of biscuits. CPF patrollers on-site received the donations and personally thanked residents for their support.

Michael Steyn, the Honeydew CPF public relations officer, expressed gratitude to everyone who participated and noted that the event continues to showcase the community’s spirit of generosity.

“Last year’s Toy Run was an incredible success thanks to the amazing support from our community. This year, we hope to make an even bigger impact, and we need everyone’s help to do it,” he said.

Although the official drop-off day has passed, anyone wishing to contribute can still make a direct donation to the Honeydew CPF’s account. The banking details are as follows: Nedbank Northgate, account number: 1514210673, branch code: 169805. Donors are asked to use “TOY RUN” as a reference to ensure funds are correctly allocated.

The Toy Run unites residents in making a meaningful difference in people’s lives each year and has become a beloved local tradition. Every contribution, whether big or small, helps ensure that the CPF can continue spreading joy and making a significant impact in the lives of those in need.
