NPR kids share their opinions on Mother’s Day!

Learners at NPR share their reasons for celebrating their moms.

The kids at Nova Pioneer Ruimsig got together to share their thoughts on what Mother’s Day is all about. Here are their answers:

Melokuhle Nkosi in Grade R wrote: “We celebrate Mother’s Day because we love our mothers. We can show them how much we love them on this day and thank them for all the special things that they do for us.”

Razeen Khan in Grade 3 wrote: “We celebrate Mother’s Day because its is a special day. It is a day to show them how much we love and respect them. I spoil my mom with breakfast in bed every year.”

Kwezilokusa Mncwango in Grade 3 wrote: “We celebrate Mother’s Day because we love our mothers. I am grateful for everything that my mother does for me.”

Rehan Khan in Grade 2 wrote: “Mother’s Day is a very special day for all the moms. It is because they do a lot of things for us. They give us gifts for our birthdays. They help us when we are sick and take care of us when we are sad. I love my mom.”

Bulumko Mobude in Grade 4 wrote: “We celebrate Mother’s Day because it is a day to thank our moms for everything that they do for us.”

Zwiatamisa Tharage in Grade 4 wrote: “I think we celebrate Mother’s Day because we can show appreciation for how they take care of us. They make us food, help us when we are sick or get hurt. They also give us a good education and help us live a healthy life. We should love all mothers and always take care of them.”

Daniella Kekae in Grade 1 wrote: “Mothers are very important, and they always take care of us. I love my mom because she is kind and beautiful.”
