Little learners take on their first day of school

From excitement about new desks to brave steps into unfamiliar classrooms, the young ones are ready to tackle their biggest adventure.

The start of a new school year is always filled with excitement, but nothing compares to the moment Grade One learners step into their classrooms for the very first time.

With backpacks almost as big as they are, wide smiles, and a few nervous glances, the youngest members of the schooling community began their journey of formal education on Wednesday, January 15.

The Roodepoort Northsider visited Weltevreden Park Primary School to catch up with the new Grade Ones to find out how they felt about this milestone day.
