Learners honoured at prestigious awards ceremony

This set the the stage for continued success and learners left with smiles on their faces as they move forward in their academic and personal journeys.

On January 27, Crawford International Ruimsig held a prestigious awards ceremony to honour the outstanding achievements of its Grade Eight to 12 learners from the class of 2024. All teachers came dressed in their graduation gowns representing the various levels of academic excellence.

The ceremony began with an inspiring address by the college principal David Maree, who commended the learners for their dedication, resilience and pursuit of excellence. “I want to take a moment to acknowledge each of you, your diligence, your resilience, and particularly your open mindset in embracing challenges along the way. You have shown remarkable tenacity, allowing you to grow and evolve through every difficulty. This adaptive spirit is essential as you venture into the world armed with knowledge that will inspire leaders and drive positive change,” he said.

David further expressed that each challenge the learners faced has not only tested their limits but has also equipped them to become leaders in a global space, bringing about the change our world so desperately needs. He also took a moment to reflect on the matric results of the Class of 2024. “We proudly announced the 100% pass rate which serves as a testament of their collective dedication and effort,” he remarked.

The awards spanned various categories; recognising top performers in their grades. The certificates were categorised into red, silver, gold, and platinum awards which all included various learners who have done exceptionally well in each category and received all or half of their academic colours. The parents proudly cheered as their children walked the stage to receive their awards.

At the end of the event parents, teachers, learners and all esteemed guests were thanked for their presence and contribution in making the ceremony a successful one.
