New Level 1 First Aiders celebrated
This level of First Aid training is mostly for general office and school staff who don’t necessarily face high-risk situations but would benefit from the ability to provide basic emergency care.
Crawford International Ruimsig is in a celebratory spirit as a group of 35 learners from their school have completed their Level 1 First Aid Training.
The learners have equipped themselves with the essential skills that will allow them to assist staff or other learners in case of an emergency.

The school’s client experience officer, Lindsay van Boven, expressed that they are proud of these learners’ achievements.
“This accomplishment is not only a reflection of their hard work and commitment, but also highlights their willingness to serve and support our school community in terms of need,” she said, highlighting that these learners have taken a big step in becoming responsible, caring leaders who can make a difference in the lives of others.
According to Absolute Health Services, health and safety specialists, Level 1 First Aid training equips individuals with the basic life support skills.
The level focuses on essential life-saving techniques that everyone should know. Level 1 first aid teaches participants to assess emergency scenes and respond quickly. They learn CPR, how to handle choking, manage bleeding and wounds, treat burns, and stabilise fractures until emergency services arrive. In addition, participants gain insight into basic shock and fainting management.
