Principal wins another award
The Princess Primary School principal won the Ruby Award for Outstanding and Organisational Excellence.
The Princess Primary School principal, John Sithi, has achieved an incredible milestone, winning his second prestigious Primary Schools Leadership in Excellence award.
Sithi recently received the coveted Ruby Award for Outstanding and Organisational Excellence in Primary Schools, a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and dedication to his school community.
This accolade is a crowning glory to his achievement last year at the National Teaching Awards, where he walked away with an award for Excellence in Primary School Leadership.
“This award is a great morale booster, and it says continue to do great work as a team. Additionally, it also means the MEC for Education, Sports, Arts, and Culture recognises the good we are doing in this corner. We are motivated to continue to brighten our own corner.

“I will be presenting this award to the learners at the assembly, thank and motivate them to do well at all times,” said the very jubilant principal.
He joined Princess Primary in 2013 and has, over the years, led with great integrity and humility, maintaining a deep connection with staff, SGB members, parents, and learners alike.
According to Sithi what made him stand out for this award is his ability to connect with his people, emphasis on employee wellness, and leadership approach that encourages motivation, commitment, and shared vision, as well as developing Princess Primary School into a brand – The Palace of Dreams – and celebrating collective successes, all underpinned by the school’s motto ‘One Step Ahead’ which demands excellence.
“My advice to other educators or aspiring principals who hope to make a positive impact in their schools is: commitment, tolerance, and emotional intelligence. Learn every day and have a teachable spirit.
“You don’t know it all, consult. Aspire to be great. Never give up. Build strong teams. Open communication channels. Sell your dream. Walk the path. If you fall, dust yourself and keep moving in the right direction. Success is a journey,” he concluded.
