Young artists put their crafts on display

Behind every brushstroke lies a story of imagination, and the pieces give audiences a glimpse of what's inside the artist's mind.

The King’s School West Rand hosted its annual art exhibition event, where art pieces created by learners from different grades were displayed.

The event was open for public viewing before and after school, on Wednesday and Thursday, October 15 and 16.

The school hall was transformed into an art gallery, with colourful portraits, still-life sketches and mixed-media pieces filling the walls and display tables.

Every piece displayed was a reflection of the unique perspectives of learners through various themes like culture, identity, and imagination.

Some learners created portraits of themselves using their pictures and adding a few touches of paint and art decorations. Others created pieces reflecting food like pizza, fried chicken, bananas, and other snacks like sweets among others.

The paintings displayed told a story and revealed how the artist felt when the painting was created and what message it carries for the next person.
