Judokas prepare for National trials

Each judoka needs a certain number of ranking points to qualify for the 2020 National trials.

 

Three judokas from the KJK Judo Club took part in this year’s National Ranking event in Uitenhage on 24 August.

The Judo South Africa Association hosts four national events each year, which include the ranking event during which judokas can obtain ranking points that will enable them to qualify for the National trials in 2020.

Each judoka needs a certain number of ranking points or needs to be on the ranking list to qualify for the National trials next year, where the South African team as well as the Commonwealth team will be selected.

The three KJK Judo Club judoka, Oabile Molefe, Moagi Molefe and Shawwal Bagaria took part in the ranking event and were placed in the top 10. All three won their ranking event

The results are as follow:

• Oabile contributed 20 points to his ranking score

• Shawwal was ranked as number one

• Moagi Molefe also contributed 20 points to his ranking score
