Roodies rugby learner tours Spain after stellar performance at Rhino Week

Neo Matasane, the Roodies' U17 captain, worked hard for this moment.

Hoërskool Roodepoort learner Neo Matasane has been selected to tour Spain after his stellar performance at Rhino Week in Vereeniging earlier in July.

The 17-year-old, who also captains the undefeated Roodies U17 team, is currently in Spain and will return on Tuesday, December 9. He described this moment as one worth its weight in gold, saying his hard work and dedication got him this far.

Coach Levarno Rankoe said the selection is a testament to Neo’s relentless work ethic and determination.

“We are exceptionally proud of Neo and all his achievements. He is a true Roodie, flying our flag high and proudly. It has been amazing to coach this young man and to see how much he has grown in his sport over the years,” Levarno added.
