The African Bird Fair is back!
The annual African Bird Fair is coming back to the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden on 14 and 15 September.
The Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden is an extremely popular birding site, with a list of over 250 bird species that have been sighted. This is why the African Bird Fair has been returning to this venue for the past four years.
Birdlife South Africa, in conjunction with SANBI (the South African National Biodiversity Institute), hosts the event that draws birding enthusiasts from all over Africa; from Limpopo to Cape Town, and even from Uganda and Mauritius.

The two-day fair comprises exhibitions from tour operators, birding organisations, and conservation and fundraising institutions. Telescopes, hiking gear, bird-watching binoculars, books, and other interesting items also make up part of the exhibition.
Workshops on various birding techniques, productive habits, and digital photography are available at the fair. International author and speaker, Jonathan Leeming, will also be giving one of his most popular presentations and conducting the Creepy Crawly Walk.

The African Bird Fair will also have a children’s play area and a market, where vendors will be selling food, drinks, and other goodies.
Admission to the event is at no extra cost to the usual entrance fee charged by the Garden.
